Synergistic enhancement effect of nano-SiO2 and ionic liquids on mechanical properties and impact resistance of polyurethane elastomer

Summary: The study shows that PUE with 2wt% IL@SiO2 loading has the best static compressive properties and dynamic impact resistance, with improvements in static and dynamic compressive yield strength by 216.15% and 190.68% compared to pure PUE. Energy absorption is also increased by 18.87%, with excellent deformation recovery performance. This indicates that IL@SiO2 is an excellent impact resistance and reinforcing material for PUE.
