A world without pythons would be so simple

Netta Engelhardt et al.

Summary: In this work, it is shown that bulk operators between the outermost extremal surface and the asymptotic boundary can be reconstructed simply in the classical limit, contrary to the Python's lunch conjecture. The 'simple wedge' reconstruction method is based on the principle of causal bulk propagation using perturbed boundary conditions. The authors also propose the Simple Entropy proposal and discuss the holographic duality of black hole uniqueness.

Symmetries in Quantum Field Theory and Quantum Gravity

Daniel Harlow et al.

Summary: This paper refines and establishes a set of old conjectures about symmetries in quantum gravity using the AdS/CFT correspondence. It shows the absence of bulk global symmetries in AdS/CFT and discusses how long-range bulk gauge symmetries lead to global boundary symmetries. The results are extended to higher-form symmetries and the weak gravity conjecture is applied to more general gauge groups.

Leading order corrections to the quantum extremal surface prescription

Chris Akers et al.

Summary: The study shows that a naive application of the quantum extremal surface (QES) prescription can lead to paradoxes and requires corrections at leading order. Corrections occur when there is a second QES with larger generalized entropy than the minimal QES at leading order, and a large amount of highly incompressible bulk entropy between the surfaces. The source of these corrections is traced back to a failure in the assumptions used in the derivation of the QES prescription using the replica trick, and a more careful derivation correctly computes the corrections.
