Distributed Formation Navigation of Constrained Second-Order Multiagent Systems With Collision Avoidance and Connectivity Maintenance

Junjie Fu et al.

Summary: This article considers the problem of distributed formation navigation for second-order multiagent systems subject to velocity and input constraints. The controller design takes into account both collision avoidance and network connectivity maintenance. The control barrier function method is used to achieve multiple control objectives while satisfying the constraints. A distributed leader-following formation controller is proposed to handle switching communication graphs and maintain velocity and input constraints. A topology-based connectivity maintenance strategy and barrier function-based constraints for collision avoidance are also presented. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Secure Distributed Adaptive Platooning Control of Automated Vehicles Over Vehicular Ad-Hoc Networks Under Denial-of-Service Attacks

Shunyuan Xiao et al.

Summary: This article addresses the issue of secure distributed adaptive platooning control of automated vehicles over vehicular ad-hoc networks in the presence of intermittent denial-of-service attacks. A new logical data packet processor is developed to identify the attacks and a scalable distributed neural-network-based adaptive control design approach is proposed. It is proven that the control design approach can regulate vehicle state estimation errors and platoon tracking errors to small neighborhoods around zero, maintaining the desired platooning performance and attack tolerance.

Time-Varying Formation Tracking of Uncertain Nonaffine Nonlinear Multiagent Systems With Communication Delays

Yang Yang et al.

Summary: This article addresses the time-varying formation tracking issue for a class of uncertain nonaffine nonlinear multiagent systems with communication delays. The transformation of the nonaffine problem into an affine problem using active disturbance rejection control, as well as the approximation and real-time compensation of individual followers' uncertainties, contribute to the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. Local information utilization from neighboring followers along with theoretical stability analysis using Lyapunov-Krasovskii function are key aspects in demonstrating the stability and performance of the control strategy through simulation examples.

Distance- and Velocity-Based Collision Avoidance for Time-Varying Formation Control of Second-Order Multi-Agent Systems

Zhong-Hua Pang et al.

Summary: This paper addresses the time-varying formation control problem for second-order multi-agent systems with collision avoidance. A novel collision avoidance scheme is proposed, which accurately determines possible collision situations and reduces collision areas, leading to lower energy consumption and minimal adverse effects on formation maintenance. A time-varying formation control protocol is designed to achieve zero steady-state position and velocity formation tracking errors without collision, with theoretical analysis, numerical demonstration, and comparative simulation provided to verify the effectiveness of the method.

Neural-Network-Based Event-Triggered Adaptive Control of Nonaffine Nonlinear Multiagent Systems With Dynamic Uncertainties

Hongjing Liang et al.

Summary: This article addresses the adaptive event-triggered neural control problem for nonaffine pure-feedback nonlinear multiagent systems with dynamic disturbance, unmodeled dynamics, and dead-zone input. The use of radial basis function neural networks to approximate unknown nonlinear functions and a dynamic signal to handle design difficulties in unmodeled dynamics were highlighted. A novel event-triggered control protocol was proposed to reduce communication burden and achieve convergence of follower outputs to a neighborhood of the leader's output, while ensuring bounded signals in the closed-loop system. An illustrative simulation example was provided to verify the efficacy of the proposed algorithms.
