The higher the degree of carboxylation (DC), the better the hydrogel's hydrophilicity, water retention capability, and supercapacitor performance. Among all hydrogel electrolytes tested, CCS6 exhibits the best overall performance with the highest DC, smallest ion diffusion resistance, largest electrochemical window, and highest specific capacitance.

Organism epidermis/plant-root inspired ultra-stable supercapacitor for large-scale wearable energy storage applications
