Secure and resource-efficient communications for telemedicine systems

Summary: This paper presents a secure and resource-efficient communication scheme for electrocardiogram (ECG) telemedicine systems. It proposes a reusable Improved Juels-Sudan (IJS) fuzzy extractor combined with the Shared Random Bio-pool (SRB) technique for authentication and key agreement, preventing personal biometrics information leakage. The scheme achieves identity authentication, key generation and distribution, and periodic rekeying through a zero-leakage, user no-involvement and efficient approach. In the data encryption and transmission phase, a Task Migration Deployment Strategy (TMDS) is adopted to enhance resource efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate high security with zero information leakage, low false acceptance rate (FAR) and false rejection rate (FRR), as well as significant resource saving compared to existing schemes.

Development of a Mobile Application for Smart Clinical Trial Subject Data Collection and Management

Summary: Wearable devices and digital health technologies have enabled the exchange of urgent clinical trial information. In this study, an application was developed to improve the functioning of decentralized clinical trials. The application underwent heuristic evaluation and user demand research to ensure usability and completeness. Through thematic analysis and role-playing, a main menu was designed, including features such as health management, medication details, and laboratory test results. The revised prototype application was deemed practically applicable to clinical trials according to the heuristic evaluation.
