Experimental investigation on the corrosion and corrosion fatigue behavior of butt weld with G20Mn5QT cast steel and Q355D steel under dry-wet cycle

Summary: Corrosion and corrosion fatigue behavior of a butt weld consisting of G20Mn5QT cast steel and Q355D steel were studied through dry-wet cycle experiments. The results showed that chloride ion erosion and defects have significant influences on the corrosion of the weld, and internal defects and corrosion pits are the main cause of corrosion fatigue failure.

Study on surface characteristics and stochastic model of corroded steel in neutral salt spray environment

Summary: An artificial accelerated corrosion test was conducted to study the surface morphology characteristic of corroded steel in a neutral salt spray environment. Results showed that the corrosion depth of steel surfaces generally follows a normal distribution, while the pit depth and aspect ratio follow a lognormal distribution. The parameters of the corroded steel surfaces changed with the degree of corrosion.

Various corrosion simulation methods were developed and the effects of corrosion depth and wall thickness on joint bearing capacity were analyzed, leading to the development and validation of a simplified method for designing the eccentric performance of corroded WHSJs.
