Signatures of a Quantum Griffiths Phase Close to an Electronic Nematic Quantum Phase Transition

Pascal Reiss et al.

Summary: Applied hydrostatic pressure on the iron-based superconductor FeSe0.89S0.11 reveals a nematic quantum critical point, resulting in a quantum Griffiths phase with a continuously varying dynamical exponent in the nonsuperconducting normal state. This phenomenon is explained by the presence of nematic islands caused by the local distribution of Se and S atoms. At low temperatures, the Griffiths phase is masked by the emergence of a Fermi liquid phase due to a strong nematoelastic coupling and a Lifshitz transition altering the topology of the Fermi surface.

Electronic Nematic States Tuned by Isoelectronic Substitution in Bulk FeSe1-x S x

Amalia I. Coldea

Summary: Isoelectronic substitution serves as an ideal tuning parameter for investigating electronic properties in iron-based superconductors, providing insights into the behavior of nematic electronic superconductors like FeSe1-x S x. Experimental progress shows that electronic correlations and Fermi velocities decrease in the nematic phase, and a pairing mechanism potentially related to spin fluctuations may be present in certain cases.

Pressure-induced reconstitution of Fermi surfaces and spin fluctuations in S-substituted FeSe

Summary: FeSe is a unique high-Tc iron-based superconductor where nematicity, superconductivity, and magnetism are entangled, with a pressure-induced Lifshitz transition observed at 1.0 GPa. Different types of antiferromagnetic fluctuations are present at different pressures, indicating the importance of the d(xy) orbital for high-Tc superconductivity.
