Stronger association of triglyceride glucose index than the HOMA-IR with arterial stiffness in patients with type 2 diabetes: a real-world single-centre study

Summary: The study found that compared to HOMA-IR, the TyG index is independently and more strongly associated with arterial stiffness in patients with T2D. Seemingly unrelated regression estimation analysis and multivariable logistic analyses showed that the TyG index was positively associated with the prevalence of increased arterial stiffness, especially in older patients with a longer duration of diabetes and poor glycaemic control. Subgroup analyses revealed a more significant association between the TyG index and arterial stiffness in specific patient populations.
