Polyphenolic profile, antibacterial activity and brine shrimp toxicity of leaf extracts from six Tunisian spontaneous species

Hajer Tlili et al.

Summary: The study found that the acetonic extracts of leaves from Rhus tripartita and Ziziphus lotus contained abundant phenolic compounds and exhibited antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria. Additionally, these extracts showed no toxicity to Artemia salina, making them potential candidates for further research in antimicrobial properties.

Ifeoma C. Orabueze et al.

Summary: The study focused on investigating the effects of hydromethanolic seed extract of Persea americana on female hormones and toxicity profile. The results showed that the extract altered FSH and PROG hormone levels in treated groups and may have potential applications in hormonal management and reproductive health. However, caution should be exercised when using it in women intending to conceive.
