Tryptophan, Kynurenine and Kynurenic Acid Concentrations in Milk and Serum of Dairy Cows with Prototheca Mastitis

Mariola Bochniarz et al.

Summary: The study confirmed that the decrease in tryptophan and its metabolites in milk samples, along with the increase in activity of indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase, could be used as markers of mastitis due to Prototheca algae.

An Understanding of the Global Status of Major Bacterial Pathogens of Milk Concerning Bovine Mastitis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis (Scientometrics)

Paramanandham Krishnamoorthy et al.

Summary: This study estimated the prevalence of major mastitis pathogens in cattle and buffalo worldwide through meta-analysis. Staphylococcus aureus was identified as the main pathogen causing subclinical mastitis, while Escherichia coli and Streptococcus were associated with clinical and subclinical mastitis. The prevalence rates of these pathogens were found to be high in Latin America and Oceania, with molecular methods showing potential for future studies.

Streptococci as the new dominant aetiological factors of mastitis in dairy cows in north-eastern Poland: analysis of the results obtained in 2013-2019

E. Kaczorek-Lukowska et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the prevalence of selected bacterial and fungal pathogens of mastitis in dairy cattle in north-eastern Poland. The findings showed an increasing role of environmental bacteria in the region, while the importance of infectious pathogens has been decreasing over the years, suggesting the efficacy of preventive programs and the need for new programs targeting environmental pathogens.
