Summary: In this study, a high-protein Chlorella sorokiniana strain CMBB276 was selected from five Chlorella strains by evaluating their growth rates, protein contents, and yields. Through optimizing the cultural conditions, ultrahigh-cell-density cultivation of C. sorokiniana CMBB276 was achieved, with the highest biomass concentration and protein yield reaching 232 and 86.55 g l(-1) respectively, indicating the great potential for economic and large-scale protein source production.

The breakthrough in cultivation technology holds promise for the Chlorella industry, expanding its applications in food and feed.
