Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) loaded gelatin/silk fibroin hydrogels for improving healing in a murine pressure ulcer model

Kui Lu et al.

Summary: The study developed a hydrogel system containing ADSCs and PRP for the treatment of pressure ulcers, showing appropriate swelling ratio, stable rheological properties, slow biodegradability, appropriate mechanical properties, and sustained release of growth factors. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrated that the hydrogel promoted wound healing, reepithelialisation, collagen deposition, and regulated expression of specific factors. Overall, the GelMA/SFMA/PRP/ADSCs hydrogel shows promise as a multifunctional dressing for pressure injuries.
