Dissemination of extreme levels of extracellular vesicles: tissue factor activity in patients with severe COVID-19

Summary: The study found that EV-TF activity is notably increased in severe COVID-19 patients compared to moderate cases, and is associated with inflammation, disease severity, and thrombotic risk. Patients with severe COVID-19 exhibited a distinct coagulopathy profile with high EV-TF and EV-fibrinolytic activities. These findings support the need for preventive anticoagulation in hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
