Toward the Copolymerization of Propylene with Polar Comonomers

Stephen L. J. Luckham et al.

Summary: Polyolefins, including polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), are widely used in consumer products and can be enhanced by forming composites with other materials. To improve their compatibility with other materials, the inclusion of polar functionalities in the polymer chain is essential. Different transition metal catalysts have varying effects on achieving this goal, with late transition metal catalysts being more suitable for reactions with polar comonomers.
