Atractus potschi, a small snake endemic to Brazil, is found in the Northeastern Atlantic Rain Forest and Caatinga biomes in the states of Alagoas, Bahia, and Sergipe. In this study, we have expanded its distribution range by 270 km from the nearest previous record. This is also the first occurrence on the left bank of the Sao Francisco River.
