Does owner handedness influence paw preference in dogs?

Summary: This study investigated whether owner handedness influences paw preference in dogs. The results showed that left-handed owners were more likely to own a dog with a left paw bias, while right-handed owners were more likely to own a dog with a right paw bias. Additionally, gender also had an impact on paw preference, with females displaying a right paw bias and males showing a left paw bias in puppyhood and a right paw bias in older age groups.

Additionally, there will be efforts to enhance ecological validity, bridge the gap between human and non-human model species, utilize next-generation neuroimaging, integrate graph-theory and machine learning, and use mobile EEG and smartphone-based data collection to advance the field.
