Do Relaxin Levels Impact Hip Injury Incidence in Women? A Scoping Review

Summary: This review assesses the impact of relaxin on the incidence of soft tissue hip injuries in women. The findings suggest that relaxin activation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) loosens pelvic ligaments, increasing the risk of musculoskeletal injuries in the hip joint and other joints. The presence of relaxin receptors in periarticular tissues, such as the anterior cruciate ligament, further supports the association between relaxin and increased injury risk.

Outcome after Modified Maquet Procedure in dogs with unilateral cranial cruciate ligament rupture: Evaluation of recovery limb function by use of force plate gait analysis

Summary: This study evaluated the outcomes of dogs undergoing the Modified Maquet Procedure for cranial cruciate ligament rupture using force plate gait analysis. The results showed significant improvement in ground reaction forces post-surgery, with 54.2% of patients demonstrating normal gait symmetry and complete bone healing observed at the 90-day follow-up. Three major and one minor complications were reported, indicating that the Modified Maquet Procedure is an effective method to stabilize the stifle joint.
