Design and prediction for highly efficient SO2 capture from flue gas by imidazolium ionic liquids

Lili Jiang et al.

Summary: An efficient method for predicting the capture of SO2 from flue gas using imidazolium ionic liquids was reported. Through quantitative calculations and design, the absorption performance of various imidazolium ionic liquids for SO2 was predicted and validated through experiments.

Mutual promotion effect of SO2 and NOx during yellow phosphorus and phosphate rock slurry adsorption process

Yunxiang Nie et al.

Summary: The novel process reported in this study achieved simultaneous removal of SO2 and NOx at low temperature using phosphorus sludge and phosphate rock slurry, showing significant efficiency without discharge of secondary pollutants. Active substances produced by the interaction of sulfur and nitrogen species played a key role in promoting the removal of SO2 and NOx, making this technology an effective and economic option for industrial-scale removal of these pollutants.

Experimental Testing of Combustion Parameters and Emissions of Waste Motor Oil and Its Diesel Mixtures

Dragisa Dordic et al.

Summary: The aim of this research is to produce alternative fuels using a mixture of waste engine oil and diesel fuel, and to test the combustion parameters and emissions. The study found that waste engine oil and its mixtures have higher emissions compared to diesel fuel, and the flue gas temperature after combustion is high.

Limestone Sorbents Market for Flue Gas Desulphurisation in Coal-Fired Power Plants in the Context of the Transformation of the Power Industry-A Case of Poland

Jaroslaw Szlugaj et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the development of flue gas desulphurisation technology in the Polish coal-fired power industry, as well as the demand for lime sorbents and FGD gypsum production. The electric energy mix in Poland is expected to undergo a significant change in the next 30 years, with a gradual decrease in the share of coal-fired electricity.

The simultaneous removal of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide by the limestone slurry with addition of organic acid additives

Ji Eun Jeong et al.

Summary: This study found that organic acids can enhance the absorption efficiency of SO2 and NO2 in a packed column. In the absence of additives, SO2 and NO2 mutually contribute to absorption efficiency. However, with the addition of organic acids, formic acid showed the highest efficiency in removing SO2.
