Study on mechanism of matrine in treatment of COVID-19 combined with liver injury by network pharmacology and molecular docking technology

Fangzhou Liu et al.

Summary: The study identified six core targets related to matrine in the treatment of COVID-19 combined with liver injury, including AKT1, TP53, TNF, IL6, BCL2L1, and ATM. Matrine was found to potentially regulate antiviral processes, improve the immune system, and modulate inflammatory factors. Molecular docking revealed strong binding affinity between matrine and receptor proteins. Real-time RT-PCR confirmed the effects of matrine on gene expression in liver and lung tissues of injury mice. The results suggest that matrine can simultaneously intervene in COVID-19 combined with liver injury through multi-dimensional pharmacological mechanisms.
