Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors for Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer with Brain Metastasis : The Role of Gamma Knife Radiosurgery

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed patients with brain metastases from NSCLC treated with ICIs with or without GKS, and found that GKS with ICI did not improve overall survival outcome but did not increase complication risk. Furthermore, it may be associated with a reduced incidence of leptomeningeal seeding compared to ICI alone. Further research is needed to understand the underlying mechanism to improve the quality of life of patients with brain metastasis.
