Designing a bileg silicon-nanowire thermoelectric generator with cavity-free structure

Md Mehdee Hasan Mahfuz et al.

Summary: Thermoelectric generators are important for converting wasted heat into electrical energy, and this work demonstrates an experimental bileg Si-nanowire micro thermoelectric generator with cavity-free architecture. The study shows how optimizing the dimensional parameters of p-type and n-type Si-NWs and impurity doses can improve power density in these generators.

Silicon Nanowires: A Breakthrough for Thermoelectric Applications

Giovanni Pennelli et al.

Summary: Silicon is well-known for its potential as a starting material for electronic devices and, when nanostructured, as an excellent material for thermoelectric applications. By optimizing parameters, such as doping concentration and nanowire diameter, silicon nanostructures could potentially achieve high figure of merit ZT at high temperatures. Researchers have proposed technological solutions for the fabrication of macroscopic thermoelectric devices based on silicon nanostructures.
