Lack of Associations between Endoplasmic Reticulum Aminopeptidase 2 Gene Polymorphisms and Ankylosing Spondylitis: A Meta-analysis with Trial Sequential Analysis

Shutao Gao et al.

Summary: The meta-analysis found no significant association between ERAP2 gene polymorphisms rs2248374 and rs2549782 and susceptibility to AS. Trial sequential analysis indicated that the sample sizes may have been inadequate to establish a positive outcome. Additional well-designed studies in diverse ethnicities are recommended to validate the current findings.

Associations of Tumor Necrosis Factor Alpha Gene Polymorphisms and Ankylosing Spondylitis Susceptibility: A Meta-analysis Based on 35 Case-control Studies

Shutao Gao et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis study examined the associations between TNF-alpha gene polymorphisms and ankylosing spondylitis (AS). The results indicated that different polymorphisms have varying effects on the risk of AS in different ethnic groups.

Polymorphisms within Genes Coding for IL-17A and F and Their Receptor as Clinical Hallmarks in Ankylosing Spondylitis

Joanna Wielinska et al.

Summary: IL-17A and IL-17F, together with their coreceptor, play a significant role in the pathogenesis of spondyloarthritis, with IL-17F rs763780 polymorphism potentially serving as a promising biomarker of disease activity and anti-TNF treatment outcome. The IL-17RA rs48419554 G allele may be a potential marker of disease severity in Polish AS patients.

The association of polymorphisms in TNF and ankylosing spondylitis in common population: a meta-analysis

Naiwen Hu et al.

Summary: The polymorphisms of the TNF gene are associated with ankylosing spondylitis susceptibility, with certain gene variations showing significance in different ethnic populations. However, the results may vary between subgroups and the overall population.

Lack of association between TNF polymorphism and ankylosing spondylitis susceptibility in HLA-B27-positive population: a meta-analysis

Naiwen Hu et al.

Summary: The study found significant associations between TNF-238, -308, -857, -1031, and -863 minor alleles and AS susceptibility in the HLA-B27 positive population. However, no association was found between TNF polymorphisms and AS in the HLA-B27-positive patients group and the HLA-B27-positive healthy controls group. Other gene SNPs may play a role in AS susceptibility in the HLA-B27-positive population.

IL-33 Gene Polymorphisms as Potential Biomarkers of Disease Susceptibility and Response to TNF Inhibitors in Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and Psoriatic Arthritis Patients

Milena Iwaszko et al.

Summary: The IL-33 gene polymorphisms are closely associated with clinical parameters, disease activity, and response to TNF inhibitor treatment in patients with RA and AS, with the rs16924159 AA genotype potentially linked to higher disease activity and poor treatment response.

Influence of the FCGR2A rs1801274 and FCGR3A rs396991 Polymorphisms on Response to Abatacept in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Noelia Marquez Pete et al.

Summary: The study revealed that a certain variant of the FCGR2A gene was associated with better response to ABA treatment at 12 months, while another variant of the FCGR3A gene also showed improved therapeutic response after 12 months. Additionally, the combined use of FCGR2A/FCGR3A genetic variations may affect the effectiveness of ABA.
