Summary: This study aimed to assess the impact of initiating gender-affirming hormonal treatment on affect in transgender individuals. Results showed a decline in positive affect during the first three months for both transmen and transwomen, with a subsequent steady state in transwomen and a second decline in transmen at 18 months. Negative affect declined in transmen during the first year, while it remained stable in transwomen throughout the follow-up period.

Use of high dose cyproterone acetate and risk of intracranial meningioma in women: cohort study

Summary: An observational cohort study conducted in France involving 253777 girls and women aged 7-70 found a strong dose-effect relationship between the use of high dose cyproterone acetate and the risk of intracranial meningiomas. The risk significantly reduced after treatment discontinuation. Specifically, meningiomas located in the anterior skull base and middle skull base, particularly involving the spheno-orbital region, appeared to be specific to cyproterone acetate.
