Efficacy and complications of ruthenium-106 brachytherapy for uveal melanoma: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy and complications of using ruthenium-106 plaque brachytherapy to treat uveal melanoma. The results showed that within the prescribed dose range of 70 Gy to 250 Gy, Ru-106 brachytherapy was successful in locally controlling uveal melanoma, but efficacy decreased with larger tumor thickness. However, these findings should be confirmed in randomized comparative studies.
