A simple method for the reduction of Schiff bases using biosynthesized nickel oxide nanoparticles

Alagesan Muthuvinothini et al.

Summary: The innovative approach described involves the reduction of aldimines to secondary amines using biosynthesized nickel oxide nanoparticles as a heterogeneous catalyst and ammonium formate as the hydrogen donor. This method of catalytic transfer hydrogenation is highly efficient in synthesizing amines with remarkable yields and without any harsh environmental impacts.

Hybrid ceria and chitosan supported nickel nanoparticles: A recyclable nanocatalytic system in the reduction of nitroarenes and the synthesis of benzopyran derivatives in green solvent

Ankush Mahajan et al.

Summary: A mesoporous, highly temperature resistant, magnetically separable, bimetallic, and organic-based photoluminescent nanocatalyst was prepared using chitosan as a support material. The catalyst exhibited excellent catalytic activity and stability, and was capable of reducing toxic nitroarenes to anilines, which are key intermediates for fine chemical, agrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Additionally, the nanocatalyst was effective in synthesizing various substituted tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans in good to excellent yields, which are essential structural components in various natural products.

Preparation and characterization of cellulose sulfate/Pd nanocatalsysts with remarkable efficiency for Suzuki-Miyaura reaction

Mitra Jokar et al.

Summary: The study presented an efficient and simple method for synthesizing palladium nanoparticles supported on cellulose sulfate, with various techniques used to characterize the nanocatalysts. These catalysts were then successfully applied in the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction between aryl bronic acid and different aryl halides, achieving high efficiency and excellent yields under atmospheric pressure.

Fabrication of magnetically separable ruthenium nanoparticles decorated on channelled silica microspheres: Efficient catalysts for chemoselective hydrogenation of nitroarenes

Gauravjyoti D. Kalita et al.

Summary: Fe3O4-SiO2 microspheres were synthesized through a three-step process and used for incorporating Ru nanoparticles, which were then employed as catalysts for converting nitroarenes to amines with good conversion and selectivity. The catalyst can be magnetically recovered and reused multiple times without significant loss in activity or selectivity.
