Arman U. Duha et al.

Summary: Simulation results of a lead-free all-perovskite tandem solar cell show that the optimal tandem cell thickness can achieve a high efficiency of 30.85%, significantly higher than that of each subcell. The top and bottom subcells have thicknesses of 983nm and 1600nm respectively, with a matching J(SC) of 14.70 mA/cm(2).

Numerical Insights into the Influence of Electrical Properties of n-CdS Buffer Layer on the Performance of SLG/Mo/p-Absorber/n-CdS/n-ZnO/Ag Configured Thin Film Photovoltaic Devices

Asmaa Soheil Najm et al.

Summary: The study investigates the impact of electrical properties of CdS buffer layer on thin film photovoltaic devices, revealing that carrier mobility and concentration of the buffer layer can affect device performance to some extent, particularly for absorber layers with a conduction band offset greater than 0.3 eV. However, for an ideal absorber layer, these properties do not significantly alter the maximum achievable efficiency.

Numerical Simulation and Performance Evaluation of Highly Efficient Sb2Se3 Solar Cell with Tin Sulfide as Hole Transport Layer

Adil Sunny et al.

Summary: By introducing inorganic tin sulfide (SnS) as a hole transport material, the performance of Sb2Se3 thin-film solar cells is optimized to enhance photovoltaic efficiency and reduce carrier recombination loss. The simulated results suggest that HTL with electron affinity greater than 3.5 eV and back contact metal with a work function greater than or equal to 4.9 eV will improve solar cell efficiency.

Stable and efficient Sb2Se3 solar cells with solution-processed NiOx hole-transport layer

Liping Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, an n-i-p structure was fabricated for Sb2Se3 solar cells by integrating a solution-processed NiOx hole-transport layer to enhance carrier collection, resulting in an improved power conversion efficiency from 6.12% to 7.15% with a 50 nm NiOx HTL. The mechanism behind the enhanced device performance was characterized through material microstructure, device physics, and interface electronic behaviors, showing that the low-cost NiOx HTL can also improve device stability under accelerated stress tests.

Arindam Basak et al.

Summary: Antimony chalcogenides, Sb2S3 and Sb2Se3, show great potential for next generation solar cells due to their non-toxicity, earth abundance, low cost and easy availability. Through detailed numerical analysis and configuration optimization, the optimal parameters for achieving high efficiency solar cells using Sb2S3 and Sb2Se3 have been determined, including absorber layer thickness, buffer layer thickness, series-shunt resistance, and the choice of electrode material with suitable work function. Efficiencies of 9.51% and 12.62% have been achieved for Sb2S3 and Sb2Se3 solar cells respectively after optimizing different parameters.
