Summary: In this study, the effects of Ti content on the soft magnetic properties of Fe-Si-Al soft magnetic powder cores were systematically studied. It was found that the addition of Ti can effectively reduce core loss while improving resistivity and density. SMPCs doped with 0.5 wt% Ti exhibited the best magnetic properties and stable corrosion resistance.

Synthesis of well-insulated Fe-Si-Al soft magnetic composites via a silane-assisted organic/inorganic composite coating route

W. W. Guan et al.

Summary: An organic/inorganic composite coating method based on silane, silicon oil, and tetraethyl orthosilicate was developed to prepare Fe-Si-Al soft magnetic composites (SMCs) in this study. The effects of insulation content on the material properties were studied, and the underlying physical mechanisms were clarified. Results showed that increasing insulation content reduced effective permeability and eddy current loss, but increased DC-bias performance and hysteresis loss.

Effect of Si/B ratio on magnetic properties and microstructure of FeSiBNbCuAl nanocrystalline alloys

Yu Sun et al.

Summary: The Si/B ratio has a significant effect on the magnetic properties of Fe-Si-Nb-Cu-Al alloys, with a slight increase in Si/B ratio improving the soft magnetic properties and microstructure of the alloy. Substituting 2% Si for B increases the activation energy of alpha-Fe(Si) growth and Fe3B precipitation, leading to the formation of uniform and stable grains, ultimately improving the magnetic domain structure and soft magnetic properties of the alloy.

Summary: Thermosetting organic resins are commonly used as insulating coatings for soft magnetic powder cores due to their high electrical resistivity. This study found that using poly-silicon-containing arylacetylene resin as an insulating layer in SMPCs can lead to the best magnetic properties, such as the lowest core loss and highest permeability, when annealed at 700 degrees Celsius for 1 hour.

Magnetization processes and magnetic domain structures in Ta/CoFeB/MgO stacks

A. K. Dhiman et al.

Summary: Magnetization processes and magnetic domain structures in Ta/CoFeB/MgO stacks were studied, showing a magnetization reorientation from out-of-plane to in-plane as the CoFeB thickness increased. The thickness dependence of magnetic anisotropy and the identification of an easy-cone magnetization region were important findings in the study.
