Mechanistic insight into the dispersion behavior of single platinum atom on monolayer g-C3N4 in single-atom catalysts from density functional theory calculations

Cheng Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the dispersion behavior of single Pt atoms on g-C3N4 through DFT calculations, revealing that migration and aggregation can be avoided globally but occur locally. Additionally, stable SACs can be synthesized when Pt coverage is below the density of six-fold cavity. Furthermore, Pt clusters confined within g-C3N4 exhibit an effective Ostwald ripening mechanism.

Pt clusters embedded in g-C3N4 nanosheets to form Z-scheme heterostructures with enhanced photochemical performance

Xiao Zhang et al.

Summary: The study focuses on improving photocatalytic activity by controlling the formation of Pt/Au clusters in heterostructural catalysts, forming Z-scheme heterostructures. Composites with optimized Pt loading show remarkable rates of H-2, CO, and CH4 evolution. The formation of Z-scheme heterostructures is crucial in enhancing photocatalytic activity.

Palladium clusters on dicarboxyl-functional hypercrosslinked porous polymers for oxidative homocoupling of benzene with O2

Yangqing Liu et al.

Summary: The research involves the synthesis of biphenyl through aerobic oxidative homocoupling of benzene with highly dispersive Pd clusters on a hypercrosslinked polymer. The catalyst exhibits excellent catalytic activity and achieves a high yield, as well as record turnover number and turnover frequency, mainly due to the formation of ultrafine Pd clusters promoted by surface dicarboxyl functional groups.

Multifunctional Pd/MOFs@MOFs Confined Core-Shell Catalysts with Wrinkled Surface for Selective Catalysis

Min-Jie Chen et al.

Summary: The article successfully fabricated a spatial base-metal core-shell structured catalyst with a wrinkled surface by a direct homoepitaxial growth method in an acid/water system, exhibiting increased hydrophobicity, exposure of active sites, and improved product selectivity. The catalytic performance was largely retained even after successive 8 cycles, showing great promise for industrial applications.

Highly Dispersed Pt Nanoparticles Embedded in N-Doped Porous Carbon for Efficient Hydrogen Evolution

Yuan Dong et al.

Summary: A novel strategy was presented to synthesize highly dispersed Pt nanoparticles embedded in N-doped porous carbon, exhibiting superior activity and durability in the hydrogen evolution reaction compared to commercial Pt/C catalyst. The excellent performance can be attributed to the combined features of catalyst and support material, including Pt dispersion, surface area and nitrogen doping of carbon, and strong metal-support interaction.

Highly dispersed Pt species anchored onto NH2-Ce-MOFs and their derived mesoporous catalysts for CO oxidation

Zeyi Guo et al.

Summary: In this study, highly dispersed ultrafine platinum particles were synthesized and anchored onto a mesoporous CeO2 structure. The presence of -NH2 groups in Ce-MOFs played a crucial role in anchoring Pt species with high dispersion, leading to the formation of Ce-Pt sites and boosting CO oxidation at low temperatures.
