Physician Financial Incentives to Reduce Unplanned Hospital Readmissions: an Interrupted Time Series Analysis

John A. Staples et al.

Summary: The study found that providing financial incentives to physicians to enhance discharge planning did not significantly reduce subsequent unplanned hospital readmission rates. The incomplete uptake of the incentive payment by physicians may have contributed to the lack of meaningful changes observed in hospital readmission rates.

Qingyu Zhou et al.

Summary: The study analyzed changes in women's healthcare services in Shanghai and New York City from 1978 to 2017 and their relationship with maternal mortality ratio. The Impacts of Regional Regulatory Policies on the Prevention and Control of Chronic Diseases in China: A Mediation Analysis

Huihui Huangfu et al.

Summary: This study explores the impacts of regional regulatory policies on chronic diseases, revealing a negative correlation between the soundness of regulatory mechanisms and the number of chronic diseases. Community service institutions play a significant role in the relationship between regulatory policies and chronic diseases, while community health centres have a partial mediating effect. The findings suggest that regulatory policies are effective in preventing and controlling chronic diseases, and efforts should be made to strengthen the roles of community service institutions and community health centres.
