Unraveling the Luminescence Quenching of Phosphors under High-Power-Density Excitation

Peng Zheng et al.

Summary: This study identifies that under high-power-density excitation, the luminescence loss of Ce3+ and Eu2+ doped phosphors is mainly caused by optical excitation quenching rather than thermal quenching. The quenching rate is dependent on the decay time of phosphors, and a new critical parameter for screening laser phosphors is proposed.

Efficient spectral regulation in Ce:Lu3(Al,Cr)5O12 and Ce:Lu3(Al,Cr)5O12/Ce:Y3Al5O12 transparent ceramics with high color rendering index for high-power white LEDs/LDs

Tianyuan Zhou et al.

Summary: Ce,Cr:LuAG TCs achieved efficient spectral regulation through Cr3+ doping, enhancing their luminescence properties in white LED/LD applications. By combining with other materials, such as 0.5 at% Ce:YAG TC, even better results were obtained in terms of CRI values for TC based white LEDs and LDs.

Zehua Liu et al.

Summary: This study fabricated CASN phosphor-in-glass films using glass as an inorganic binder, achieving high efficiency and thermal stability. Introducing LuAG to offset the spectra of CASN PiFs, broad emission spectra and high efficiency were achieved. The high color quality LD white lighting produced by PiFs represents a significant advancement in the field.
