Targeting androgen signaling in ILC2s protects from IL-33-driven lung inflammation, independently of KLRG1

Eve Blanquart et al.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of androgens on the development and function of innate lymphoid cells in female lungs. The findings suggest that androgens negatively control innate lymphoid cell homeostasis and inflammation in a cell-intrinsic manner. The inhibitory receptor killer cell lectin-like receptor G1 is found to play a dispensable role in androgen-mediated inhibition of innate lymphoid cells.

Single-cell chromatin accessibility landscape identifies tissue repair program in human regulatory T cells

Michael Delacher et al.

Summary: Research identified features of human tissue Treg cells with tissue repair functions, which show similarities in gene expression profiles at the single-cell level with murine cells, and shared characteristics with T follicular helper-like cells. Inducing differentiation of human Treg cells into Tfh-like cells can partially replicate the regenerative characteristics of tissue Treg cells.

CD8+ Regulatory T Cell - A Mystery to Be Revealed

Shruti Mishra et al.

Summary: Regulatory T cells, specifically CD8(+) Tregs, are crucial in maintaining immune balance and preventing autoimmune disorders. The subsets of CD8(+) Tregs, such as CD122(hi)Ly49(+)CD8(+) Tregs, have been identified as non-redundant regulators of germinal center reaction, dependent on factors like Helios, IL-15, TGF-beta, and Eomesodermin. Further research is needed to fully understand the differentiation, function, and true identity of CD8(+) Tregs compared to CD4(+) follicular regulatory T cells in controlling germinal center reaction.

Combination blockade of KLRG1 and PD-1 promotes immune control of local and disseminated cancers

Angela Tata et al.

Summary: Blocking KLRG1 enhances anti-tumor immunity mediated by NK cells and CD8(+) T cells, and synergizes with PD-1 checkpoint therapy to significantly decrease tumor growth. Double blockade therapy leads to decreased tumor size, increased frequency and activation of T cells and NK cells in the tumor microenvironment.
