The Effect of Cucurbit[7]uril on the Antitumor and Immunomodulating Properties of Oxaliplatin and Carboplatin

Ekaterina Pashkina et al.

Summary: Cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) as a molecular container can interact with platinum(II) anticancer drugs, affecting their biological properties and antitumor effects. Encapsulation of oxaliplatin in CB[7] was found to reduce the toxicity of the drug while increasing its cytotoxic effect on tumor cell lines. In vivo, CB[7] enhanced the antitumor effect of carboplatin but also increased its acute toxicity.

Cytotoxicity of Ocimum basilicum and Impatiens walleriana Extracts on AGS and SKOV-3 Cancer Cell Lines by Flow Cytometry Analysis

Parichehr Hanachi et al.

Summary: The study found that Impatiens walleriana and Ocimum basilicum contain a significant amount of anthocyanins and carotenoid compounds, showing cytotoxic effects on human gastric adenocarcinoma and ovarian carcinoma cell lines. Impatiens walleriana exhibited the strongest cytotoxicity on AGS cancer cells, while Ocimum basilicum had slightly higher cytotoxicity on SKOV3 cancer cells. Further research and trials are needed to fully explore the potential of these extracts.
