Fast Simultaneous CO2 Gas Temperature and Concentration Measurements by Quantum Cascade Laser Absorption Spectroscopy

Simultaneous Sensitive Determination of δ13C, δ18O, and δ17O in Human Breath CO2 Based on ICL Direct Absorption Spectroscopy

Summary: Previous research has shown the potential link between isotopes C-13 and O-18 in exhaled CO2 and Helicobacter pylori, but the O-17 isotope has received little attention. In this study, a sensitive spectroscopic sensor was developed for simultaneous analysis of delta C-13, delta O-18, and delta O-17 in human breath CO2. The sensor utilises mid-infrared laser direct absorption spectroscopy and achieves high precision through precise temperature and pressure control. The system demonstrated close measurement errors to real-time measurements, indicating its reliability in breath analysis.
