Revealing Molecular Strong Field Autoionization Dynamics

Sizuo Luo et al.

Summary: The research identifies and investigates the dynamics of strong-field autoionization through experimental studies on double-ionized CO. The results show that electrons in SFAI are generated through the field-induced decay of the autoionizing state and subsequently accelerated in the laser field.

Dissociative Ionization of Molecular CF2Br2 under 800 and 400 nm Intense Femtosecond Laser Fields

Botong Liu et al.

Summary: The interaction between the CF2Br2 molecule and 800/400 nm intense femtosecond laser fields has been studied by analyzing the kinetic energy release distribution and angular distribution of fragment ions, determining the dissociation channels along C-Br bond cleavage. The isotropic structure of the angular distribution for CF2Br+ ions is attributed to the coupling between the excited states, and a unique elimination channel of CF2Br2+ -> CF2 + Br-2(+) has been observed in the case of 400 nm laser field where the two C-Br bonds break asynchronously.

Probing tunneling dynamics of dissociative H2 molecules using two-color bicircularly polarized fields

Zhenning Guo et al.

Summary: The study explores the tunneling dynamics of internuclear-dependent dissociative reaction of H-2 using two-color bicircularly polarized femtosecond laser pulses. By measuring high-resolution photoelectron spectroscopy, the researchers disentangle the effects of the long-range Coulomb potential and the initial phase on molecular-frame photoelectron momentum distributions. The work provides insights into ultrafast spatiotemporal photoelectron dynamics and quantum control of molecular chemical processes via sculptured circular fields.

Competition between dynamic resonance and internal conversion in strong-field molecular ionization with chirped ultrafast laser pulses

Brian Kaufman et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the control of ionization yield to different ionic states in a polyatomic molecule by using the time-varying phase or frequency of a chirped strong-field ultrafast laser pulse. The competition between multiphoton resonance and internal conversion plays a crucial role in this control. The research highlights the competition between light-matter coupling and the coupled motions of electrons and nuclei in strong-field laser-molecule interactions.
