MHD Mixed Convection and Entropy Analysis of Non-Newtonian Hybrid Nanofluid in a Novel Wavy Elbow-Shaped Cavity with a Quarter Circle Hot Block and a Rotating Cylinder

S. Hussain et al.

Summary: This paper studies the Magneto hydrodynamics (MHD) mixed convection and entropy analysis by introducing a power law hybrid nanofluid in a wavy elbow-shaped cavity with a quarter circle hot block and a rotating cylinder. The thermal and hydrodynamics behavior of the cavity is investigated by comparing the Nusselt (Nu) numbers. The study shows that the Nu number increases with an increasing power law index, clockwise rotation enhances the heat transfer rate, and increasing the aspect ratio increases the heat transfer rate.

R. Ghasemiasl et al.

Summary: Nanoparticles have been widely used in liquids due to their impact on heat transfer growth rate and solving issues of using particles larger than nano in various currents. This article reviews and analyzes the research conducted in forced heat transfer of nanofluids within channels and pipes. The study finds that the geometric properties of channels and pipes, insertion of obstacles in flow path, and defined boundary conditions have significant influence on heat transfer growth and system efficiency.

Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop of Nanofluid with Rod-like Particles in Turbulent Flows through a Curved Pipe

Wenqian Lin et al.

Summary: This study investigates the effects of Reynolds number, particle volume concentration, Schmidt number, particle aspect ratio, and Dean number on the pressure drop, heat transfer, and energy performance of ZnO/water nanofluid with rodlike particles flowing through a curved pipe. The results show that the friction factor and Nusselt number of the nanofluid are influenced by the different parameters, and a formula for calculating the ratio of energy performance coefficient (PEC) between the nanofluid and base fluid is derived based on the numerical data.

Investigation on inlet obstruction in transitional flow regime: Heat transfer augmentation and pressure drop analysis

Basma Souayeh et al.

Summary: The thermohydraulic characteristics of air as a working medium in a circular heated channel with an inlet obstruction were experimentally investigated for transitional flow regime. The placement of the ribbed prism in the channel influenced the start and end of the transition, and the heat flux had a significant impact on the transition onset and termination. Correlations were developed to predict the Nusselt number and friction factor, providing useful insights for the design of solar thermal systems and heat exchangers.

Summary: A new hybrid method of MPCD-MD is proposed to evaluate the morphology of aggregation and thermal conductivity of Cu-H2O nanofluid, reducing the computational workload. The numerical simulations show that the nanofluid has greater thermal conductivity at lower fractal dimension at fixed volume fraction, and there is a linear relationship between fractal dimension and thermal conductivity.

Distribution and Deposition of Cylindrical Nanoparticles in a Turbulent Pipe Flow

Wenqian Lin et al.

Summary: The study investigates the distribution and deposition of cylindrical nanoparticles in a turbulent pipe flow, showing that the particle concentration becomes non-uniform along the flow direction. The particles tend to align with their major axis near the flow direction, especially with increasing particle aspect ratio. Additionally, particles near the wall have a more obvious alignment with the flow direction compared to those in the center of the pipe.
