Selective autophagy regulates heat stress memory inArabidopsisby NBR1-mediated targeting of HSP90 and ROF1

Venkatesh P. Thirumalaikumar et al.

Summary: Plants experience various stresses in their growth process, and autophagy plays an important role in regulating plant recovery and memory of heat stress. NBR1 functions as a receptor for selective autophagy during recovery from heat stress, interacting with HSP90.1 and ROF1 to mediate protein degradation and modulate the response to heat stress. Loss of NBR1 function results in a stronger memory phenotype for heat stress in plants.

Gene co-expression network analysis reveals key pathways and hub genes in Chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa L.) during vernalization

Yun Dai et al.

Summary: This study investigates the gene expression differences between two Chinese cabbage accessions with different bolting behaviors during vernalization. Through transcriptome analysis and WGCNA, it was found that specific pathways such as shoot system morphogenesis and signaling pathways play a role in promoting early bolting, while pathways related to chitin, ABA, and ethylene signaling are involved in late bolting. Hub genes like MTHFR2, CPRD49, AAP8, and specific genes related to flower development were also identified. These findings provide valuable insights for breeders in optimizing Chinese cabbage production.

Exogenous Methyl Jasmonate Improves Heat Tolerance of Perennial Ryegrass Through Alteration of Osmotic Adjustment, Antioxidant Defense, and Expression of Jasmonic Acid-Responsive Genes

Yanning Su et al.

Summary: Exogenous methyl jasmonic acid (MeJA) significantly improves the heat tolerance of perennial ryegrass by altering osmotic adjustment, antioxidant defense, and the expression of JA-responsive genes. Moreover, MeJA treatment increases the activities of antioxidant enzymes, reducing oxidative damage caused by heat stress. Additionally, MeJA upregulates the transcript levels of genes involved in the JA biosynthetic pathway, enhancing the accumulation of JA and MeJA content in perennial ryegrass.

Transcriptome data-based identification of candidate genes involved in metabolism and accumulation of soluble sugars during fruit development in 'Huangguan' plum

Xinmiao Yu et al.

Summary: The study identified and quantified four soluble sugars in plum fruits at different maturity stages, with sucrose and glucose being major components. RNA-Seq analysis revealed 6,778 differentially expressed genes, including those involved in sugar metabolism. Several key enzymes and transcription factors were found to regulate sugar accumulation in fruits at different developmental stages. The results provided new insights into the genetic control of sugar metabolism and accumulation in plum fruits.

Comparative transcriptome analysis of different heat stress responses between self-root grafting line and heterogeneous grafting line in rose

Wenquan Qi et al.

Summary: The study revealed that under high temperature stress, multiple signaling pathways were activated, leading to the induction of numerous transcription factors and functional genes, especially HSFs and HSPs. Differences in gene expression related to fatty acids and carbohydrates were observed between self-root grafting line and heterogeneous grafting line. The results suggest that DEGs involved in physiological and biochemical traits may play a key role in resisting high temperature, highlighting the effectiveness of grafting in improving rose heat resistance.
