Highly accurate wavelet-homotopy solutions for mixed convection hybrid nanofluid flow in an inclined square lid-driven cavity

An-Yang Wang et al.

Summary: The classic problem of mixed convection flow within an inclined square lid-driven cavity is extended to the case of hybrid nanofluid. The proposed Coiflet wavelet-homotopy method is used to study the governed partial differential equations with non-homogeneous boundary conditions. Highly accurate solutions with clear vortex structures are obtained. The results show that the proposed approach is more effective and accurate in dealing with complicated nonlinear problems compared to the traditional methods. Additionally, the study examines the physical properties of hybrid nanofluid behaviors and finds that they offer better heat transfer enhancement than traditional heat transfer fluids, but are also easier and cheaper.

Darcy-Forchheimer Flow of Water Conveying Multi-Walled Carbon Nanoparticles through a Vertical Cleveland Z-Staggered Cavity Subject to Entropy Generation

Ghulam Rasool et al.

Summary: This study investigated the dynamics of water conveying MWCNTs through a vertical Cleveland Z-staggered cavity using numerical simulation. The impact of entropy generation on the flow was considered. The results revealed that increasing the Reynold number enhanced the inertial force and decreased the velocity of incompressible Darcy-Forchheimer flow in the middle cavity. Moreover, an increase in the Hartmann number resulted in a reduction in the velocity at the center of the cavity, whereas the Bejan number decreased with increasing Reynold number at various Hartmann numbers but increased at multiple Darcy numbers.

Numerical study of mixed convection and entropy generation of Water-Ag nanofluid filled semi-elliptic lid-driven cavity

Haiying Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, laminar mixed convection of water/Ag nanofluid with different volume fractions of nanoparticles was simulated. The results show that adding a higher volume fraction of nanoparticles at lower Richardson numbers enhances heat transfer and Nusselt number. The streamlines in the cavity are influenced by lid-driven motion and fluid viscosity, which contribute to achieving uniform temperature distribution in the cavity.
