Exosome-derived miR-142-5p remodels lymphatic vessels and induces IDO to promote immune privilege in the tumour microenvironment

Chenfei Zhou et al.

Summary: The high levels of miR-142-5p in advanced CSCC positively correlate with IDO expression in tumor-associated lymphatic vessels. The miR-142-5p is transferred by CSCC-secreted exosomes into LECs to induce IDO expression via ARID2-DNMT1-IFN-gamma signaling, leading to CD8(+)T cell exhaustion. This study suggests that LECs play a crucial role as immune checkpoints in the TME and may be a potential new target for CSCC diagnosis and treatment.

Summary: The upregulation of circNlgn in patients with cardiac disease leads to cardiac overload. The novel peptide Nlgn173 binds to nuclear structural proteins and regulators, ultimately contributing to cardiac fibrosis and heart disease. Therapeutic implications may be derived from understanding this dysregulation mechanism.

An antisense circular RNA circSCRIB enhances cancer progression by suppressing parental gene splicing and translation

Jian Ma et al.

Summary: Our study identified a significant enrichment of antisense circRNAs in breast cancer specimens, particularly circSCRIB (hsa_circ_0001831), which can modulate the function of the tumor suppressor SCRIB by affecting mRNA splicing and promoting cancer cell activities like invasion and proliferation. The findings suggest a potential novel therapeutic approach targeting circRNAs.
