Investigation into the effect of mechanical activation on the leaching of chalcopyrite in a glycine medium

Maryam Khezri et al.

Summary: The study showed that mechanical activation and particle size have significant effects on the leaching and electrochemical behavior of chalcopyrite. By conducting leaching experiments and electrochemical analysis, it was found that glycine leaching with mechanical activation pretreatment can be a promising method for extracting copper efficiently from chalcopyrite concentrates.

Recovery of copper and the deportment of other base metals from alkaline glycine leachates derived from waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs)

Huan Li et al.

Summary: A novel approach for extracting copper from waste printed circuit boards using glycine solutions was reported, with the investigation of three recovery options: hydrazine reduction, sulphide precipitation, and solvent extraction. Each method showed different levels of copper recovery and effectiveness in metal extraction.

Cyanide consumption minimisation and concomitant toxic effluent minimisation during precious metals extraction from waste printed circuit boards

Huan Li et al.

Summary: The research shows that using cyanide-starved glycine solution can effectively extract precious metals from waste printed circuit boards, reducing cyanide usage significantly while maintaining good selectivity and allowing reagent recycling. Under optimized conditions, 90.1% Au, 89.4% Ag, and 70.1% Pd were extracted, along with 81.0% Cu and 15.0% Zn.
