Identification of a consensus DNA-binding site for the TCP domain transcription factor TCP2 and its important roles in the growth and development of Arabidopsis

Zhimin He et al.

Summary: TEOSINTE BRANCHED 1/CYCLOIDEA/PROLIFERATING CELL FACTOR 1 (TCP) transcription factors are found to control various aspects of plant growth and development through direct regulation of target genes such as CCA1 and ELF3 via specific DNA binding sites. Mutations in TCP2 lead to variations in leaf morphogenesis and late flowering, while TCP2 also influences hypocotyl elongation by mediating the jasmonate signaling pathway.

A Paeonia ostii caffeoyl-CoA O-methyltransferase confers drought stress tolerance by promoting lignin synthesis and ROS scavenging

Daqiu Zhao et al.

Summary: This study identified a key gene, PoCCoAOMT, in Paeonia ostii that is associated with drought stress tolerance. Overexpression of PoCCoAOMT in tobacco enhanced drought stress tolerance by reducing ROS accumulation, increasing antioxidant enzyme activities, and improving photosynthesis. This gene plays a vital role in promoting lignin synthesis and ROS scavenging to confer drought stress tolerance in P. ostii.

Genome-Wide Identification of TCP Transcription Factors Family in Sweet Potato Reveals Significant Roles of miR319-Targeted TCPs in Leaf Anatomical Morphology

Lei Ren et al.

Summary: Plant-specific TCP transcription factors are crucial for growth, development, and stress response processes. In this study, 18 IbTCPs were identified in sweet potato and their expression profiles were found to vary significantly. The study also showed the importance of IbmiR319-targeted IbTCPs in leaf anatomical morphology.
