Comparative Analysis the Complete Chloroplast Genomes of Nine Musa Species: Genomic Features, Comparative Analysis, and Phylogenetic Implications

Weicai Song et al.

Summary: In this study, we used next-generation sequencing technology to analyze the chloroplast genomes of nine new Musa plants. The results provided insights into the genome structure, GC content, repeat structure, codon usage, and nucleotide diversity. Additionally, several non-coding sites and genes were identified as potential molecular markers. Phylogenetic analysis confirmed the division of Musa into two main groups based on the complete chloroplast genome and coding sequences of protein-coding genes.

Chloroplast genome variation and phylogenetic relationships of Atractylodes species

Yiheng Wang et al.

Summary: The chloroplast genome of Atractylodes has a typical quadripartite structure and varies in size from 152,294bp to 153,261bp. All species contain 113 genes, with four hotspots and 42-47 SSR identified as potential markers for species delimitation. Phylogenetic analyses show Atractylodes as a clade within tribe Cynareae, with species forming a monophyly reflecting clear relationships within the genus.

Complete chloroplast genome features and phylogenetic analysis of Eruca sativa (Brassicaceae)

Bin Zhu et al.

Summary: Eruca sativa is an important edible vegetable with potential medicinal properties due to antibacterial activity of its seed oil. The complete chloroplast genome of E. sativa shares similarities with other Brassicaceae species, and protein-coding genes show purifying selection pressure, suggesting evolutionary closeness with important Brassica species. This may allow transfer of beneficial alleles from E. sativa to improve other Brassica species.
