Toxicity of Carbon Nanotubes: Molecular Mechanisms, Signaling Cascades, and Remedies in Biomedical Applications

Mansab Ali Saleemi et al.

Summary: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are the most studied allotropic form of carbon and can be used in various biomedical applications due to their novel physicochemical properties. However, their toxicity remains a major concern that requires further research. This Review discusses the toxicity of CNTs and associated mechanisms, as well as potential ways to control these mechanisms.

Nanoscale Patterning of Carbon Nanotubes: Techniques, Applications, and Future

Alexander Corletto et al.

Summary: CNT devices and electronics are showing maturity and competing with or surpassing conventional materials. The challenge lies in scaling and placing CNTs in desired micro/nanopatterns to fully utilize their properties. Techniques for nanoscale patterning are critical for realizing the benefits of CNTs in macroscale devices.

Biomimetic electrospun tubular PLLA/gelatin nanofiber scaffold promoting regeneration of sciatic nerve transection in SD rat

Yuqing Niu et al.

Summary: The study prepared a biomimetic nerve guidance scaffold using gelatin-doped PLLA nanofibers to mimic native nerve tissue structure, which showed significant effects on promoting nerve tissue regeneration in vitro and in vivo experiments. The synergistic impact of nano topographical and biochemical clues on designing biomimetic scaffolds efficiently promote nerve tissue regrowth.
