The Effect of Tin Addition to Platinum Catalysts with Different Morphologies towards Methanol Electrooxidation in Alkaline Media

The study investigated the effects of platinum nanoparticle morphology and the presence of tin oxide in the electrocatalysts. Results showed that cubic-shaped platinum nanoparticles with (100) preferential orientation exhibited higher catalytic activity in alkaline media, with Pt/C(100) showing the highest current density for MEOR. SnO2 was found to enhance the catalytic activity of polycrystalline platinum, while decreasing it for Pt(100).

Unveiling the enhanced electrocatalytic activity at electrochemically synthesized Pt-WOx hybrid nanostructure interfaces
