Traditional treatment systems are not efficient in removing EDCs, leading to the exploration of alternative methods such as Advanced Oxidative Processes (AOPs). Studies have shown the promise of AOPs in degrading EDCs, with future prospects in the field highlighted.

Coatings of magnetic composites of iron oxide and carbon nitride for photocatalytic water purification

Summary: Magnetic composites of iron oxide and carbon nitride were synthesized and characterized, showing promising photocatalytic degradation performance for pollutants under visible light irradiation. The immobilization approach and spray coating technique enhances the efficiency of the photocatalytic process, with successful degradation of pollutants such as RhB, triclosan, and ethinyl estradiol. Leaching of pollutants does not occur after photocatalytic treatment, indicating the stability of the materials.

Recent advancements in analytical technologies have allowed for the identification of EDCs and the proposition of suitable treatment processes, with many research publications focusing on detection methods and treatment processes for EDCs over the last decade.
