Summary: Beta-D-N-acetyl-hexosaminidase (Hex) has antifungal activity in plants and plays an important role in the treatment of Tay-Sachs and Sandhoff diseases. Immobilization of the enzyme on PLA films resulted in improved kinetic parameters and thermal stability, with one form showing unexpected long-term functionality. The immobilized enzyme shows promise for potential biotechnological and biomedical applications.
