Economical planning of fuel cell vehicle-to-grid integrated green buildings with a new hybrid optimization algorithm

Hao Li et al.

Summary: The popularity of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCVs) is crucial for reducing CO2 emissions worldwide. However, the high overall cost of FCVs and hydrogen fuel production has hindered their widespread adoption. This study focuses on analyzing the economic potential of fuel cell vehicle-to-grid (FCV2G) systems as a means to promote FCVs. By simulating vehicle visiting time and developing a discharge model, an overall economic optimization model is presented, and a hybrid algorithm is applied for optimization. The results show that the proposed algorithm has faster convergence and greater accuracy in finding optimal solutions compared to other algorithms. Sensitivity analysis indicates that the FCV2G system has high development potential and increasing economic profit over time.

The photothermal effect enhance visible light-driven hydrogen evolution using urchin-like hollow RuO2/TiO2/Pt/C nanomaterial

Bowen Li et al.

Summary: The novel urchin-like hollow TiO2 photothermal nano-catalyst with spatially separated Pt and RuO2 dual cocatalysts combined with a carbon layer shows improved catalytic hydrogen evolution under visible light irradiation. The sandwich nanostructure effectively supports and protects the Pt nanoparticles, while the hot electrons generated from the carbon layer participate in the photocatalytic reaction. The enhanced visible light absorption performance of TiO2 is attributed to narrowing the band gap and reducing penetration-loss of light with a hollow structure, resulting in improved catalytic performance for hydrogen production.

Adsorption Kinetics of NO2 Gas on Pt/Cr-TiO2/Pt-Based Sensors

Azhar Ali Haidry et al.

Summary: Metal oxides are promising materials for gas detection, but their limited operating temperature and selectivity are important issues. This study fabricated a Pt/Cr-TiO2/Pt sensor structure and successfully improved sensor performance by reducing the operating temperature and selectively detecting low NO2 concentrations. The adsorption kinetics of NO2 were also investigated using different models, and the sensing mechanism was discussed based on the results.

Deactivated Pt Electrocatalysts for the Oxygen Reduction Reaction: The Regeneration Mechanism and a Regenerative Protocol

Yu-Xin Liu et al.

Summary: This study reveals that dynamic potential scanning can gradually regenerate poisoned Pt/C, and that SO2 can be converted to easily oxidized forms at a low potential. Based on this mechanism, a square wave-based protocol is proposed to completely regenerate SO2-poisoned Pt surfaces within an unprecedented three cycles.
