Profibrotic function of pulmonary group 2 innate lymphoid cells is controlled by regnase-1

Yoshinari Nakatsuka et al.

Summary: Regnase-1 is a critical post-transcriptional regulator of pulmonary immune homeostasis in mice, particularly in ILC2 cells. Deficiency of Regnase-1 leads to abnormal proliferation and activation of ILC2 cells, with upregulation of fibrosis-associated genes, ultimately enhancing bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis.

Neuromedin U: potential roles in immunity and inflammation

Yuan Ye et al.

Summary: Neuromedin U (NmU), a neuropeptide discovered in 1985, plays various physiological and pathophysiological roles, including smooth muscle contraction, feeding, energy balance, and tumorigenesis. Recent studies have shown that NmU also has pro-inflammatory effects, involving immune cell activation and cytokine release. Understanding the interactions between NmU and immune cells can provide insights into its potential contributions to inflammatory diseases.

Vagal-α7nAChR signaling attenuates allergic asthma responses and facilitates asthma tolerance by regulating inflammatory group 2 innate lymphoid cells

Xintong Feng et al.

Summary: Through experiments on mice and gene knockout methods, it was found that the vagus nerve, pulmonary C-fibers, and the Chrna7 gene play important roles in regulating asthma and asthma tolerance. This discovery may contribute to further research and treatment of asthma.

The ChAT-acetylcholine pathway promotes group 2 innate lymphoid cell responses and anti-helminth immunity

Coco Chu et al.

Summary: ILC2s up-regulate ChAT and express AChRs after infection or treatment, with ACh administration promoting cytokine production and helminth expulsion. Deficiency of ChAT in ILC2s leads to impaired immunity.

Roles of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in allergic diseases: The 10-year anniversary for ILC2s

Kathleen R. Bartemes et al.

Summary: ILC2, a type of innate lymphoid cell, responds rapidly to allergen exposure and environmental insults in mucosal organs by producing type 2 cytokines. In addition to being activated by epithelium-derived cytokines, ILC2s are regulated by other cytokines, eicosanoids, and neuropeptides.

Neuronal-Activated ILC2s Promote IL-17A Production in Lung γδ T Cells During Sepsis

Weiwei Chen et al.

Summary: In sepsis, NMU acts through NMUR1 in lung ILC2s to initiate ILC2 activation, which promotes IL-17A-producing gamma delta T cell expansion and secretion of IL-17A. ILC2-derived IL-9 plays a crucial role in mediating gamma delta T cell expansion and IL-17A production. This study explores a novel mechanism in the neuronal regulation of innate immunity in sepsis.

Effect of parasympathetic inhibition on expression of ILC2 cells in a mouse model of allergic rhinitis

Binbin Hu et al.

Summary: The study found that parasympathetic inhibition can alleviate symptoms of allergic rhinitis and suppress its immune response. ILC2 plays a crucial role in the development of AR, and parasympathetic inhibition can reduce the number of ILC2 and inhibit their cytokine expression.

Modified BuShenYiQi formula alleviates experimental allergic asthma in mice by negative regulation of type 2 innate lymphoid cells and CD4+ type 9 helper T cells and the VIP-VPAC2 signalling pathway

Muhua Huang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that M-BYF can alleviate experimental asthma by negatively regulating ILC2s and Th9 cells, as well as the VIP-VPAC2 signaling pathway, reducing airway hyperresponsiveness, inflammation, mucus hypersecretion, and collagen deposition in asthmatic mice.
