Comparative Study of Red/Green/Blue Quantum-Dot Light-Emitting Diodes by Time-Resolved Transient Electroluminescence

Qibin Shen et al.

Summary: A comparative study on quantum-dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) using time-resolved transient electroluminescence (TREL) revealed that insufficient electron injection at the type II heterojunction affected the performance of B-QLEDs. By applying a polymer as the hole-transporting layer, the efficiency of B-QLEDs improved with an increase in turn-on voltage and the appearance of a transient electroluminescence spike after voltage turn-off.

Bulk-like ZnSe Quantum Dots Enabling Efficient Ultranarrow Blue Light-Emitting Diodes

Min Gao et al.

Summary: By growing a thin shell of ZnS on ZnSe cores with sizes larger than the bulk Bohr diameter, blue-emitting heavy-metal free QDs with high quantum yield of 95% and extremely narrow emission width of around 9.6 nm were successfully synthesized. The bulk-like size of ZnSe cores also improves charge transport, resulting in bright pure blue emission with an external quantum efficiency of 12.2% and a relatively long operating lifetime in LEDs.
