Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0 combination: scoping review and perspectives

Summary: The current market is highly customized, leading to intense competition between companies to meet customer needs. To remain competitive, companies seek ways to improve efficiency, flexibility, and performance. With the emergence of Industry 4.0, new technologies have been developed to enhance connectivity and automate processes. This paper introduces the combination of Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0, known as LSS4.0, to further enhance operational excellence for companies. The aim of this paper is to present existing research findings, identify gaps in the literature, and provide directions for future studies.

Benchmarking Industry 4.0 readiness evaluation using fuzzy approaches

Summary: This article aims to evaluate the readiness index of an automotive component manufacturing organization for Industry 4.0 using fuzzy logic and multi-grade fuzzy approaches. The evaluation model successfully assessed the readiness index based on fuzzy logic, and the results were validated through benchmarking with multi-grade fuzzy approach. The study identified weaker areas and provided improvement suggestions, contributing to the understanding and enhancement of Industry 4.0 readiness.
