Summary: The motivation of this study is to assess the impact of renewable energy consumption, energy innovation, and total trade on environmental sustainability in selected MENA countries. The study utilized several econometric tools and found unidirectional causality between renewable energy and environmental sustainability, trade and environmental sustainability, and a feedback relationship between energy innovation and environmental sustainability. The study suggests specific sectoral environmental reforms, reduction of subsidies on nonrenewable energy, and the implementation of green trade policies to advance sustainable development in Tunisia and Morocco.

An Asymmetric Investigation of Remittance and Trade Openness Impact on Inequality: Evidence From Selected South Asian Countries
